February’15 is an International Childhood Cancer Day. On this day childhood cancer is widely discussed all over the world. About problems, victories, pain, joy, prospective possibilities.
According to the ICCCPO data – Childhood Cancer surviving has increased twice for the previous 30 years and makes up 80% now; however, this rate is mainly typical of well-developed countries, in other words only one cancer patient out of 5 will experience it.
In developing countries the rate of childhood cancer surviving is usually 20 %. Annually 100 000 children die of treatment lack. Since 2007 there has existed the World Childhood Cancer Foundation; the main task and goal of it is to remove the difference in Childhood Cancer surviving rates in well-developed and developing countries.
This organization releases two new projects in Malawi and Columbia, to the end of 2009 will select three more projects. Hopefully, Ukraine will be a part of this project.
